After another round of school visits I sat down and opened the letters from a really special class. (To be fair, they are all special!) I was immediately transported back to my days of teaching and it hit every nostalgic bone in my body.
When I opened the pack of letters, I wondered if Children across Canada were going to get to write Santa Letters this year… given the postal strike I wasn’t sure. So I wanted to make sure I responded to every one of those carefully constructed handwritten student notes bursting with questions about Ice Cap!
Is it hard to be an author? Not when writing is a passion!
How did Ice Cap become a snowman? He came from my own ideas and from the imagination of my grandaughter who thought our snowman should be modern, cool, and kind!
How long did it take to make the book?It took about half a year to write and polish and about a year and a half to publish.
Why do you like to be an author? Being an author is just part of my personality. Writing is a passion, rhyming and finding the right words to create feelings and images in a persons mind just fills me with happiness!
I look forward to the stories that children will send on my website: joanepp.com and I hope many children will enjoy Ice Cap too!
Ciao for now!
